Find Disabled Computers in Active Directory
In this guide, you will learn how to find disabled computers in Active Directory.
Step 1. Open the AD Cleanup Tool.
Step 2. Click Filters and select Disabled Computers.
Step 3. Click Run to view the report
In this example, you can see the tool found 8 disabled computer accounts.
You can export the report or bulk move them to another organizational unit.
To move the accounts select the ones you want to move and click the move button.
Next, select the OU you want to move the computers into and click submit.
In this example, I’m moving all the disabled computers into an OU called Disabled.
You will get a popup confirming to move the accounts, click OK.
Check the OU and confirm the accounts have been moved. If you have multiple domain controllers you might need to wait a few minutes for replication to complete.
